Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one go without the need to switch between devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its relatively affordable price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual gets you running in no time. It comes with the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is a powerful small machine that can cleans up a mess and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb and the robot is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it can smash into walls and other objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that shows the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would have liked to be able distinguish between a mop only vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might be unable to pick up.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tested it also has a 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-filling.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for washing manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and set up these smart features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its smart design allows you to personalize and efficiently clean while reducing time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It also comes with a high-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in operation, only producing occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with an additional side brush that can be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access low-profile furniture, making it a great option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice touch that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. vacuum bot can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, view maps and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress and notify you when it is finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market, but it packs in a lot of extra features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is beneficial as it keeps mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.
There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you define these preferences, or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also offers many features that aren't offered on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that looks classy and sophisticated. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list but it's not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping system is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
